The Teaching Resources section provides practical, professionally relevant, and accessible materials to support instructors in their day-to-day teaching and ongoing professional development. It is designed as a space where instructors can explore ideas, approaches, and resources that may inform their classroom practice and respond to different teaching and learning contexts.
The resources aim to bridge pedagogical principles and classroom practice by presenting professional knowledge in forms that can be readily explored, adapted, and applied. Rather than promoting a single approach to language teaching, the section encourages instructors to consider different strategies in relation to their learners, learning objectives, classroom context, and pedagogical purpose. In this way, the resources are intended to support informed professional decision-making while recognising instructors’ experience, professional judgement, and individual teaching contexts.
A particular emphasis is placed on reflection, experimentation, and practical application. Instructors are encouraged not only to explore new ideas and resources but also to consider how these may be adapted to their own classrooms, observe their impact on teaching and learning, and reflect on what they discover through the process. The section therefore complements the School’s broader approach to professional development by creating opportunities for instructors to connect professional learning with their everyday classroom experience.
Where appropriate, resources are also connected to the YUSFL Professional Development Framework, enabling instructors to explore materials related to particular Professional Development Domains and Development Goals. These connections are intended to support evidence-informed, instructor-selected professional development and to provide additional resources for instructors who wish to explore a particular aspect of their teaching in greater depth.
