The School of Foreign Languages (YDYO) being affiliated to the Rectorate was established on May 6th, 2012. With the start of the 2017-2018 Academic year, our school moved to its new building on the Main Campus.

In accordance with the Law No. 2547, YDYO has been conducting English language compulsory preparatory classes as a prerequisite for the first year of the faculties of which language of instruction is 30% or 100% in English. Also, we offer one year study of English preparatory classes on demand by the students of other faculties and vocational schools. The main purpose of our foreign language education is to teach English to students who are newly-matriculated at Yalova University.

As the School of Foreign Languages, we aim to equip our students with the skills they will need for their academic studies in the departments they are enrolled.

The School of Foreign Languages incorporates three departments:

  • Department of Foreign Languages
  • Department of Translation and Interpretation in English
  • Department of Translation and Interpretation in Arabic
